Where to Plan A Trip for Glamping
The parks services used to have run down cabins on their lands. Thankfully, they have been remodeling and updated them. It makes these yurts and cabins more like glamping – getting the experience of camping with a bit of luxury thrown in. The larger National Parks like Yellowstone and Yosemite use the Reserve.com reservation system. It is best to select your dates as far in advance as possible for the larger parks. State parks have some cabins that are a first-come-first-serve during their shoulder seasons.
Airbnb or Private Yurts & Cabins
Airbnb does a fantastic job of curating cabins and yurts held by private owners. Some of the most beautiful yurts are on private land and are true gems in the middle of nowhere. When renting one of these make special note if you have to bring your own bedding or other household items. Most yurts and cabins are dry, meaning that they have no running water. Either there is an outhouse or a communal restroom nearby. Many have gorgeous outdoor kitchens and fire ring areas to enjoy smores at night.
